Our Approach to Recovery Care
The practitioners and the office staff are vitally important to a patient’s recovery. Taking that away from them simply because they have “graduated” from a medication might be a difficult adjustment and could undermine their recovery.
At Apex, we understand that each individual’s journey to recovery is unique. From the moment one of our patients makes the difficult decision to call our office, to the time they are checking out of their appointment and leaving the office there are dozens, if not hundreds, of interactions, moments, and opportunities to support their recovery or to contribute to their relapse. We strive to accommodate the schedules of people who are trying to get their lives back, to hold down jobs, and to raise families. Oftentimes they come to our practice and are shocked to be met with an offer of coffee, or water, or the simple respect that they do not get at other Addiction Medicine facilities. People are thrilled to see the photos they’ve provided of their cats, dogs, birds, etc on our “Pets of Apex” wall helping them to feel like a part of something rather than just a number.
