ABOUT JILL BECKER, MD
Jill Becker, MD, is a skilled physician specializing in Opioid Use Disorder recovery, Alcohol Use Disorder recovery, Medical Cannabis care, and life coaching. She practices at Apex Medical Wellness in Brockton and Marlborough, Massachusetts, and welcomes patients from all walks of life both in person and via telehealth.
A “Beyond the Box” doctor with a Master’s Degree in Clinical Counseling, Dr. Becker is well-versed in Expressive Arts Therapy and Psychosynthesis Life-Coaching. She received her Medical Degree from the University of Massachusetts Medical School and her Master’s Degree from William James College. Dr. Becker recently received ISAM Certification and keeps current with the latest in recovery medicine to best serve her patients. She has a scientific approach to cannabis medicine and has extensively studied endocannabinology.
Dr. Becker is the former owner of a gallery and studio where she featured local artists’ works. She is an artist, a jeweler, a mother, and although she is a lousy cook, she is a not-so-silent partner in two restaurants. Most importantly, Dr. Becker is very passionate about caring for people in a kind and nonjudgmental manner.
ABOUT HEATHER ALKER, MD
Heather Alker MD, MPH is a physician specializing in Preventive Medicine and Addiction Medicine. She is board certified in Public Health and Preventive Medicine and recently finished a year-long fellowship in Addiction Medicine. She has worked at UMass Medical School as core faculty in the Preventive Medicine residency and is past Chair of the Occupational and Environmental Health Committee at the Massachusetts Medical Society, where she led policy work recognizing the health impacts of climate change. Dr. Alker welcomes all adult patients seeking office-based addiction treatment, including medications for substance use disorders. She works clinically in person and via telehealth and devotes time to care of patients in the LGBTQ+ community. She served medically underserved communities on service trips in Haiti in 2017 and 2018. She is dedicated to providing high-quality medical care to all patients. Traveling, martial arts, and knitting are some of her current favorite activities. Helping patients improve their health and well-being is her passion.
